Samsung D500 and Internet

I finaly solved the trouble to connect through a Samsung D500 mobile phone to the Internet!

It is not that difficult, except that you should not bother with the software that shipped with the phone. If you live in South Africa and use MTN as a service provider do the following.
  1. activate bluetooth on phone and pc
  2. open on pc control pannel, phone and modem options, modems, if your phone is already present as a modem remove it first, select add and let the pc detect your phone as modem
  3. after the modem is installed open the properties button next to the add button and select the advanced window
  4. enter the following AT+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet","",0,0
  5. go to network connections in control pannel and select create new connection
  6. in the wizzard select connect to the internet, set connection manualy, dial-up modem, select the modem, set ISP name to myMTM, set phone number to *99***1#, leave username and password blank
  7. when you want a Internet connection click on the network connection you just created and a dial-up interface will take you to the Net
  8. if the speed is slow up the connection speed in the phone and modem properties, if you live in an Edge/3G area you should get close to broadband speeds provided the port speed through the bluetooth on your pc is up to it. My laptop gives +900kb/s but my pc with a TDK bluetooth dongel only gives 115kb/s
